Mike is a photographer, filmmaker, father, husband, and lawyer—just not always in that order. As a photographer, Mike enjoys photographing just about anything and anybody. In any given month landscapes, people, city streets, families, and wildlife can all find their way into his portfolio.
“I belong to no school of photography but my own. I belong only to my love for images and the magic that comes from capturing a moment.”
As a lawyer, Mike is the founding partner of the Ethridge Law Group (ELG), a litigation firm with roughly 12 attorneys and staff who handle coverage and commercial litigation for businesses and insurance companies in Georgia and the Carolinas.
Mike is also the founding chair of the South Carolina Bar’s Attorney Wellness Committee and is a frequent speaker at bar events and attorney gatherings across the country. Mike has been the recipient of South Carolina Lawyers Weekly Leadership in Law award, the South Carolina Bar’s Outstanding Achievement Award, and the American Bar Association’s Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Award (received on behalf of the South Carolina Wellness Committee). Mike is a former advisory board member for the ABA’s Commission on Lawyers Assistance Programs and is currently a member of the South Carolina’s Lawyers Helping Lawyers Commission. In 2018 Mike was given special recognition by the South Carolina Supreme Court for his work in the area of attorney well-being.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Georgia Law School (1988), the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (1985), and Mississippi College (1982).
